College Essay Coach 

Private Prep is seeking part-time College Essay Coaches to join our College Admissions Counseling team. The Coach will work closely with students and their families to guide them through the personal statement and supplemental essays brainstorm and editing process, making sure that students’ voices are authentically and impactfully represented. The Coach will work closely with the Director of Admissions Counseling through initial training and ongoing professional development and growth opportunities, and have access to unique resources and support as a member of the Private Prep community. 

While much of our admissions work is remote, the position requires occasional in-person availability in Northern and Central New Jersey and/or in Westchester County, NY. In addition, in our busy season (late summer-fall), the position requires some flexibility on evenings and weekends in order to accommodate students’ schedules.

DESIRED SKILLS 

• Bachelor’s degree
• 2+ years professional experience 
• Formal writing and editing experience preferred 
• Outstanding writing and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Passion for helping students discover and communicate their unique voice
