Where Are Our Scholars Headed?

Celebrating our Learn to Thrive Scholars: Class of 2022

As we wrap up another admissions season and reflect on all of our students’ successes and growth this year, we want to specifically highlight the wonderful accomplishments of the outstanding students in our Learn to Thrive scholarship program.

Our mission

Our program’s mission is to support and empower students from backgrounds that have been traditionally underrepresented in higher education. The scholarship program’s goal is to combat the systemic inequities, particularly race-based inequities, of the American education institution by helping our students develop and employ skills that will allow them to create greater opportunities for their futures. While guiding our students through the standardized test prep and/or college application processes, we seek to provide them with counseling, resources, and experiential knowledge that will equip them to make informed and empowered decisions along their paths to higher education and beyond.

The Class of 2022

Our 25 seniors in the class of 2022 came from Westchester, Long Island, New York City, New Jersey, and Maryland, and the vast majority will be the first in their families to attend college. This year’s graduating seniors include aspiring doctors, lawyers, engineers, political leaders, teachers, musicians, and activists. In college, they’ll be studying everything from forensic science to history, architecture to computer science. We couldn’t be prouder of our Scholars and of their amazing work over the past two years on their journey to college!

Our 2022 Scholars are celebrating their acceptances to dozens of wonderful colleges, including:

  • Allegheny College
  • Bucknell University
  • Christopher Newport University
  • Franklin & Marshall College
  • John Jay College of Criminal Justice
  • New Jersey Institute of Technology
  • Stanford University
  • St. John’s University
  • SUNY Stonybrook
  • University of Connecticut
  • University of Delaware
  • Virginia Tech

Our Scholars have been so successful that we are thrilled to be expanding the program; in the class of 2023, we are supporting 32 talented students in their journeys to college. We can’t wait to see where that journey takes them.

Want to support our program and help us find the next class of Learn to Thrive Scholars?
